It is a safe exam that does not use ionising radiation and is frequently used for the diagnosis and follow-up of various pathologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What is it?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a diagnostic imaging exam that uses magnetic fields and radiofrequency waves to produce high-resolution images of the inside of the body. The exam is performed in a safe, comfortable and painless way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It allows the detailed study of organs, joints, blood vessels, muscles, soft tissues and the central nervous system, among other structures, without the use of radiation.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What is the price of an MRI?<\/h2>\n<p>At NRD, most MRI examinations cost <strong>\u20ac275 (private price)<\/strong>, with some exceptions (Abdomino-pelvic MRI \u2013 \u20ac500, Uro MRI \u2013 \u20ac500, Angio MRI \u2013 \u20ac360 and MRCP \u2013 \u20ac305).<\/p>\n<p><strong>However, you can undergo the exam through several agreements<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>ADSE<\/strong> (the user pays only the copayment, usually \u20ac30 or, in rare cases, \u20ac50), <strong>IASFA<\/strong>, <strong>ADM GNR, SAD PSP<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Insurance companies:<\/strong> M\u00e9dis, Multicare, Advance Care, Allianz, Sa\u00fade Prime, Future HealthCare, SS CGD, SAMS Quadros, SAMS, Montepio, RNA, Generali, Mudum, MGEN, Aegon, Vit\u00f3ria, Una Seguros, among others. The price varies according to the insurance you use.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Health Plans:<\/strong> Medicare, Sa\u00fade Prime, Future HealthCare, Continente Wells, ACP and other health plans. The price varies according to the plan you use.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Protocols and special prices<\/strong> \u2013 NRD has protocols with several clinics and institutions that allow you to undergo the exam at very competitive prices. For MRI, this price is generally around <strong>\u20ac220<\/strong>, except for abdomino-pelvic MRI (\u20ac350), Uro MRI (\u20ac350) and Angio MRI (\u20ac275).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How is it done?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The patient is positioned on a table that slides into the MRI scanner, which is open at both ends. Also inform us if you have dental implants.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Orthodontic appliances<\/td>\n<td>Inform us if you have orthodontic braces. A compatibility test may be necessary before MRI.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Pacemakers and implantable devices<\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NRD does not perform MRI exams on patients with pacemakers or certain implantable devices (e.g. cochlear implants). In these cases, the exam should preferably be carried out in a hospital setting.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 16px;\">Throughout the entire MRI exam, you will be continuously monitored by the NRD imaging technologist responsible for your exam. An alert system will also be available for you to activate if needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You should remain still during the exam to ensure high-quality images.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entire NRD team will be at your disposal to answer any questions you may have.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After the exam, you can return to your normal daily activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>When and how do you receive the results?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will receive the MRI report within up to 7 days after the exam, by e-mail or on paper at the clinic.
