What is it?
Carotid Echo-Doppler, also known as Carotid Doppler, assessesthe cervical arterial vessels, namely the common, internal and external carotid arteries and the vertebral arteries.
It can identify the presence of atheromatous plaques and possible vascular stenosis. Generally speaking, Doppler ultrasound is an echographic method that allows simultaneous assessment of vessels and determination of their flow by the Doppler effect.
How is it done?
You are asked to remove your shirt to expose the part of the body to be examined, and to lie down on the couch.
A gel is applied directly to the area to be examined or directly to the probe to facilitate the procedure.
