Venous Echo-Doppler Lower Limbs

What is it?

Venous Echo-Doppler of the Lower Limbs, also known as Venous Doppler of the Lower Limbs, makes it possible to assess the presence of changes in venous (vein) flow, such as chronic venous insufficiency (varicose veins) or deep vein thrombosis.

Generally speaking, Doppler ultrasound is an echographic method that allows simultaneous assessment of vessels and determination of their flow by the Doppler effect.

How is it done?

You are asked to remove your trousers/skirt to expose the part of the body to be examined, and to lie down on the couch.
A gel is applied directly to the area to be examined or directly to the probe to facilitate the procedure.
